BERLIN - A 42-year-old German man was so enraged by a foul during a boys’ soccer match that he invaded the pitch and felled the 8-year-old culprit with a karate kick, then jumped on him, police said on Wednesday.
“It seems likely the man was related to the player who was fouled, but it’s not entirely clear at this point,” said a spokesman for police in the southwestern town of Hassloch.
Other spectators, mostly parents of the children playing in the indoor match, piled in behind the angry spectator to restrain him and prevent any serious injuries to the boy.

DECATUR, Ill. - Scott Wiese, a die-hard Chicago Bears fan, will legally change his name to that of Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning after signing a pledge in front of a crowd at a Decatur bar last Friday night. He vowed to adopt Manning’s name if the Bears lost Sunday’s Super Bowl.
The final score was Colts 29, Bears 17.

“I made the bet, and now I’ve got to keep it,” said the 26-year-old, who lives in Forsyth, just north of Decatur.

But the tattoo artist was a supporter of rival team River Plate and decided to have some fun at his young customer’s expense.
The victim told Terra Argentina: “I could not see what he was tattooing because he didn’t have a mirror. I only saw it when I got home and showed it to my parents.”

“You were an ass in every true sense of the word in this crime,” Douglas County District Judge Thomas Otepka told the 22-year-old Willever.
