My friend when we were growing up had a Skipper doll that the stomach flipped and there were twins in it. Thinking back on it now that I’m older I can’t help but think WTF? Skipper is like 16 years old.

What’s wrong with you people?? Being pregnant is a natural part of most women’s lives!! How can you possibly find this “gross” and “wrong”? Midge was introduced in the 60’s, she is an adult Barbie. It is not like Mattel is promoting teen pregnancy or rape victims. She is part of the “Happy Family” line, and has a husband, wedding ring, and a son. That is a LOT more wholesome than some of the dolls that are on the shelves today.. you’d rather have your kid play with a doll that has booty shorts and her midriff showing? Yeah, that’s a lot better than promoting a family.
There is NOTHING wrong with portraying a happy family with a baby on the way. Grow up. Are you going to shield your kids forever and tell them that being pregnant is wrong?

Kids do not come from under cabbage leaves, and your kids have got to learn sometime. Either tell them or hand them Barbie, either way they will figure it out. oh my gosh i think this is a good idea, it’s sort of like the sims and the sims2 and stuff..it tells you about families but doesn’t have any gross details in it and stuff…i love it!!

Well, I think this is a good idea, actually. I’m 14 years old and I think for younger kids, learning from Barbie is a good way to learn. ‘Cause when my mom “explained” it to me *even though I already knew* it felt reaaaaaaally awkward. Come on people, it’s not like Barbie, or Midge, is showing anything too sexual. It’s not like it’s a picture of Ken’s penis and Barbie’s (Midge) vagina. Come on. You have worse things to worry about than a Barbie with a baby inside her stomach. For all you know, your child could be watching porn while you are asleep or not at home.

hahahahaha!!! that is quite possibly the best barbie EVER!! only because it made me laugh so much when i saw it! it’s so gross but so funny. does anyone know where to get one? they’re fantastic! although to be honest, i don’t see how it teaches kids anything except for the vital life lesson that barbie is a cannibalistic babykiller! how on earth does that resemble pregnancy except for the upside-down baby? where are all the icky bits? and are kids supposed to think that you have to cut a hole the size of a toddler in your stomach to get a baby out?

Sometimes I wonder if cultural and social differences are really so huge between the certain continents; I mean, it’s all the so-called “western civilization”. Or it should be.
It’s no wonder so many (young) girls have no idea about the actual consenquences of having sex and how to protect themselves (and their partners), when their parents refuse to talk about such “gross” things! Ignorance is not protecting anyone, it’s dangerous to the one you’re trying to protect. And, protect from what? Life?

By the time I had started sex ed in school I had already had sex. And the more they told me about abstinance the more I tryed to have sex.
Let kids learn on there own when they are young (and dont get me wrong im not saying to have your kids watch porn at an early age or anything like that, but it is known that children who are not told abou the body and what it dose are more likely to experiment and “play doctor”) so they know about the health risks of getting pregnant at an early age and how to prevent it.

I see nothing wrong with this doll. Kids see pregnant women all the time, not always with a man either. Kids don’t think as deeply about it as we do. If they come from a happy home with 2 parents, they will most usually assume that other moms having babies include a dad too, even if he’s not around. Do you ever watch little girls in stores carrying around a little baby doll with its own little car seat in the cart? Most little girls practice from the time they’re little being mommies and even being pregnant when they are playing ‘house’ with their friends. I know I have caught my little girl with a baby doll shoved up her shirt and then nursing it and talking to it the way I do with her baby brother. It is totally natural, girls are born to want to nurture. I’m sure they would love nothing more than to help Barbie take care of her baby. It’s better than the twins who were abandoned with nurse Barbie …And by the way, it’s not a doll that determines your childs morals, it’s you and what you say and do.

alot of girls look up to barbie and want to be just like her. i can see where it would be bad because it would make girls think its ok to be pregnant, but by the time they understand the whole pregnant thing they are too old and not really interested in barbie anymore. for little kids that do play with barbie, they dont understand the whole pregnant thing so having a pregnant barbie would be ok. all little girls want to take care of babies, its normal, if i was a little girl i would want one of these. i think as long as parents talk to there kids like they are supposed to, there wont be anything to worry about.
its not even barbie look at the quality of the plastic, the make up, the shape of her eyes and the way she smiling so chill, barbies not the slut its that friend of hers midge that really got knockd up lol

i am 15 years old and i was reading the things about the barbie well when i was 5 years old my mom bought me that barbie i thought nothing of it i did nothing anything i just thought it was cute the baby was me and the mommy was my mom now i am not into sex or were sluty cloths i try to help my friends that are going down the rong path but get really do you really think your kids are going to think anything of the barbie but try to talk to your kids are a good age about se well when i was 6 my aunt told me about sex but not everything i was so scared when i was told that i never thoug of ever having sex but i know now that i want kids but i want to be married first thats the best way to go but try not to wory about it i was too young when i leard but i new everything at the age of 10. my friends think that its “COOL” too have sex so everyone is lieing about having sex but most girls at my school have had sex and its just stupid im in grade 9

It’s this generation of kids and Teachers. I think it’s wrong that the Teacher’s teach about sex, that just saying to the kids it’s ok to have sex when they give out condoms for the boys. I think they should have a Teen Safe Sex Barbie where her and her boyfriend have sex. But Barbie would come with condoms to put on her boy friend before he pours the pork to her. I mean what the hell many schools give out free condoms to teens.

ok, the idea is not gross, the removable tummy panel is… but what else could they do to show the joy of life? give her a fully working vagina and expanding hips to accommodate? i think botched c-section is the only thing that Mattel could do, i am just saying…

It’s bad enough that are kids want to be perfect little figures just like barbie Now they are going to want to be Pregnant just like barbie….. I mean don’t get me wrong I find this very funny as a gag…but I would never purchase or allow my child to play with the toy though

I see nothing wrong with the doll, it’s just promoting a naturally occurring phenomenon, pregnancy. What I do see wrong, however, is the poor use of the English language used in these comments. Stop worrying about Barbie and worry about education and proper grammar!!!

I see nothing wrong with this doll. Kids see pregnant women all the time, not always with a man either. Kids don’t think as deeply about it as we do. If they come from a happy home with 2 parents, they will most usually assume that other moms having babies include a dad too, even if he’s not around. Do you ever watch little girls in stores carrying around a little baby doll with its own little car seat in the cart? Most little girls practice from the time they’re little being mommies and even being pregnant when they are playing ‘house’ with their friends. I know I have caught my little girl with a baby doll shoved up her shirt and then nursing it and talking to it the way I do with her baby brother. It is totally natural, girls are born to want to nurture. I’m sure they would love nothing more than to help Barbie take care of her baby. It’s better than the twins who were abandoned with nurse Barbie …And by the way, it’s not a doll that determines your childs morals, it’s you and what you say and do.

alot of girls look up to barbie and want to be just like her. i can see where it would be bad because it would make girls think its ok to be pregnant, but by the time they understand the whole pregnant thing they are too old and not really interested in barbie anymore. for little kids that do play with barbie, they dont understand the whole pregnant thing so having a pregnant barbie would be ok. all little girls want to take care of babies, its normal, if i was a little girl i would want one of these. i think as long as parents talk to there kids like they are supposed to, there wont be anything to worry about.

i am 15 years old and i was reading the things about the barbie well when i was 5 years old my mom bought me that barbie i thought nothing of it i did nothing anything i just thought it was cute the baby was me and the mommy was my mom now i am not into sex or were sluty cloths i try to help my friends that are going down the rong path but get really do you really think your kids are going to think anything of the barbie but try to talk to your kids are a good age about se well when i was 6 my aunt told me about sex but not everything i was so scared when i was told that i never thoug of ever having sex but i know now that i want kids but i want to be married first thats the best way to go but try not to wory about it i was too young when i leard but i new everything at the age of 10. my friends think that its “COOL” too have sex so everyone is lieing about having sex but most girls at my school have had sex and its just stupid im in grade 9

i babysit this little girl she is 7 years old and she is starting to ask where babys come from but i tell her she will kow when she is older but her barbies have nothing to do with it. to kids barbies are just a toy but i was 5 when i was asking the “where do babys come for” all kids are going to say it but its not for so kid toy trust me when i asked i was in the car with my mom i remember it so well and there were no toys

It’s this generation of kids and Teachers. I think it’s wrong that the Teacher’s teach about sex, that just saying to the kids it’s ok to have sex when they give out condoms for the boys. I guess I was brought up in the old school back in the 60’s. We did not know about sex till we turn at least 18yrs old. We did not have sex classes in my days. Thanks

For all of you girls….did you not have dolls as a little kid? I’m pretty sure I had one that you had to feed, it peed, you changed it…wow…what is the big deal….kid’s play docter, play house,play teacher, pretend they have babies…that is part of being a kid, you spend how much time imagining that you are an adult…to be honest I don’t know many kids that would even want this barbie, but even if they did so what?? Most little girls have dolls that they pretend is their own little baby….get over it, it’s you guys that try to hide this stuff from your kids that are going to end up having kids with kids…

I think they should have a Teen Safe Sex Barbie where her and her boyfriend have sex. But Barbie would come with condoms to put on her boy friend before he pours the pork to her. I mean what the hell many schools give out free condoms to teens.
I guess if many school officials believe its ok to distribute rubbers to kids, what the heck.
